How to install Calibre on Mac

The purpose of this tutorial is to teach you guys how to install Calibre on your Mac OS X machines so you can use it to manage your collection of digital books and magazines. First of all, before installing it on your computer, it is needed that you download the free software, something which can be done through this link. Once the download is finished, double click on the fresh file and let the installation setup show up.

The following is the screenshot which shows how it looks like in the beginning.

Then drag and drop the calibre app shown in the above picture in the Applications.

Once finished copying, go to Launchpad and search for Calibre. When the software shows up, just do a single click on it.

Then click Open.

Once opened, a box will show up, asking you as a user for the language to use in your electronic library, also the location where the ebooks are going to get copied. I suggest you leave it as default and click on Next.

Another box is going to ask you for the kind of device which you are going to use as an e-book device, again I recommend to leave it as default.

Then click on Finish.

Once the installation is finished, Calibre will automatically start up, wait for it to launch. The following is a screenshot which shows the fully installed ebook management tool.

In the next articles about Calibre, I am going to teach you guys how to create your first library and how to populate it with books. Although Calibre is a complicated software, I am very sure the detailed instructions being served in this website will make it easy for anyone to use.
